How It All Started
Originally meeting in their hard rock band Years Apart from the Hudson Valley, NY, Marshall and Seth became long time friends who write music together and now co-host the Let Dirt Fly YouTube Channel. In the year 2020, the Covid-19 Pandemic put the world on pause. Unfortunately, this also meant the pause of Live Music, which is an avid hobby for Marshall and Seth. With no shows in the foreseeable future due to the pandemic, Marshall invited Seth over to ride some quads back in his old trails.
Marshall hadn’t been back in the trails for over 10 years and was riding an older 2006 Arctic Cat 500 4×4 Auto. At the time Seth had a 2015 Polaris Sportsman 570 EPS that he’d only ever really ridden around his house, but wanted to give the trails a go. After the first ride, Seth was hooked on riding and immediately wanted to come back to ride some more. Soon after, Seth bought his wife a 2018 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO, so his family could also enjoy riding.
After purchasing the 500, Marshall suggested filming the adventures they went on with his GoPro 6 Black he just recently purchased. With the first short video filmed and edited, Seth wanted to be able to see the rides, so Marshall uploaded them to YouTube. Needing a channel name, Marshall’s fiance suggested the name Let Dirt Fly, being that Marshall is also a Northeast Dirt Modified Sportsman Division driver and wanted to incorporate the racing into the channel. After a few uploads, views started rolling in and people started subscribing to the channel. With the addition of a 2020 CFMoto CForce 600 and 2020 Can-Am Outlander 650 XMR, the channel began to take off into what it is today.
